Wynn’s heritage of automotive product excellence dates back to 1939, in California, where Chestien Wynn, a 70 year old retired attorney with an interest in lubrication chemistry, discovered a formula he named “Wynn’s Friction Proofing” Oil.
This surface treatment for metal actually changed the chemistry of the metal, making it softer and better able to withstand friction and wear. Chestien would mix a batch of his product in his one car garage workshop, fill and label glass bottles with it and sell it to the local service stations and garages. From these humble beginnings Wynn’s has become a global brand.
Working closely with the Wynn’s marketing team based in the USA, GWDesign were asked to utilise the files for a new site recently completed for Wynn’s Europe by a web development company in Belgium, and set up a new website for wynnsusa.com. We customised, modified, removed and added features to suit the US market as instructed by the Wynn’s marketing team accordingly. Fortunately the Wynn’s EU site was developed on the WordPress platform, but a lot of the backend code was in Dutch so that complicated things slightly.
GWDesign were also asked to host the site on our Dedicated Server as the current hosting for wynnsusa.com did not support the Wordpress installation.
